What this covers

This policy explains how The API Guys LLC uses cookies on audiologysync.com. It sits alongside the AudiologySync privacy notice, which explains everything else we do with personal information.

Our other brands publish their own cookie policies. The practice is the same across all of them, but each site says so in its own document.

The short version

We set no cookies until you agree to analytics. No advertising cookies, no tracking across other websites, and no selling anything to anyone. If you decline, or simply ignore the banner, nothing is stored on your device by us.

What we use, and when

Analytics — only with your agreement

If you choose Allow analytics, we use Google Analytics 4, loaded through Google Tag Manager, to understand which pages people find useful and where visitors come from. It sets two cookies, _ga and a second beginning _ga_, which together let us count a returning visitor as one person rather than two.

They do not tell us who you are. We never send Google your name, email address, or any other identifying detail — doing so is prohibited by Google’s own terms and by ours.

Until you agree, Google Analytics does not run at all. It is not merely limited: the tag does not load, no measurement is sent, and no cookie is written. We use what Google calls basic consent mode, which blocks the tag outright rather than letting it send anonymous signals.

One thing we should be straight about: Google Tag Manager itself loads on every page, because it is the mechanism that turns analytics on when you agree. Loading it means your browser contacts Google. It carries no measurement and sets no cookie of its own.

Strictly necessary — no choice involved

Some cookies are required for a page to work at all, and these are set without asking because there is nothing meaningful to consent to — declining them means the service does not function.

The one you are most likely to meet is on our booking pages. Those are operated for us by HighLevel Inc., and they set a Cloudflare security cookie (__cf_bm) that distinguishes real visitors from automated traffic. It lasts about half an hour, cannot be read by any script, and is not used to profile you.

What we never use

• No advertising or retargeting cookies. We do not follow you to other websites, and agreeing to analytics does not switch advertising on — it is a separate thing we do not do.
• No social media pixels.
• No selling or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. There is nothing to opt out of, and that remains true whatever you choose here.

Changing your mind

Click No thanks or Allow analytics in the banner. Your choice is stored on your own device and remembered on later visits.

To change it afterwards, clear this site’s data in your browser — the banner will ask again on your next visit. You can also block or delete cookies entirely in your browser settings; our sites work fine without them.

How long analytics data is kept

Analytics data is retained for 14 months from your last visit, after which Google deletes it. Coming back resets that clock — so if you visit again in a year, the fourteen months starts again from then. Stop visiting and it expires.

Two honest limits on that. The period applies to the individual-level data used for detailed analysis; Google keeps aggregate statistics — visit counts and similar, with no individual in them — for longer, and that is not something we control. And because analytics data identifies a browser rather than a person, we usually cannot connect it to you even if you ask us to. If you want us to try, contact us and we will use the deletion tools Google provides.

Other websites

Following a link away from our sites — including the book a call button, which takes you to a scheduling page run by HighLevel — puts you on someone else’s website, under their policies. We say so on the booking link specifically because that page carries a web address of ours, and you would otherwise have no way to tell.

If we change this policy we will update the version and effective date above. Adding any new category of cookie — advertising in particular — would mean asking you again rather than relying on a choice you made about analytics.
